Le premier postulant de chœur à tenir bon entra au cours de l'été 1932, le jeune Gérald O'Dea, maintenant dom Bernard, et Prieur de Glenstal depuis novembre dernier. Le premier résultat en fut que ce prêtre, zélé pour tout ce qui touche au culte de Dieu — et qui se montra depuis notre arrivée jusqu'à sa mort un ami et un appui constant — appela peu après dom Winoc pour former au plain-chant les religieuses et les élèves du grand pensionnat de Cashel. L'exemple fut suivi, et il n'y a plus aujourd'hui de ville, guère de couvent ou pensionnat où dom Winoc n'ait passé et repassé.
